Juan Gomez-Novy
Juan Gomez-Novy is a Senior Associate of Sargent Town Planning, with 25 years of experience in urban planning, design and architecture. Juan has successfully managed large multi-disciplinary teams for a wide variety of project types throughout California, including downtown and corridor revitalization, transit-oriented development, urban infill, greenfield neighborhoods, large specific plans and general plans. He was a senior member of Sargent Town Planning from 2012 to 2017, rejoining us in 2022.
Juan is currently leading STP's work in preparing Objective Design and Development Standards for the City of Ontario, and preparing a General Plan Update for the City of Watsonville. Juan has previously managed STP's work on projects including general plan updates for the cities of Coachella and Palm Desert, a 1600-acre corridor specific plan for Merced, a multi-modal station area master plan and Transit Oriented Development (TOD) Zoning for the neighborhoods surrounding Downtown Lancaster, and a transit-oriented Downtown Corridors Specific Plan for San Fernando. The tireless efforts of Juan, STP and San Fernando City staff - persisting through a long and challenging public process leading to the adoption of a community-supported Specific Plan - was recognized by the Southern California Association of Governments (SCAG) with their 2018 "Against All Odds Award" for sustainable development.
