John Baucke
John brings to our team almost 40 years' experience in planning, entitling and developing complex, mixed-use neighborhood projects. With a strong background in developing walkable neighborhoods and entitling difficult sites in multi-jurisdictional environments, John works with our consulting economists in preparing market studies and fiscal analysis, with our environmental consultants preparing technical and environmental studies, and with our clients to craft sophisticated entitlement strategies and market-calibrated development strategies.
John's background in community planning and design also makes him a valuable member of the design team, infusing our plans with economic and political reality from concept through execution. Early in his career John oversaw the cleanup and entitlement of brownfield infill sites for the City of Seal Beach, and later served as the director of entitlements for the Bixby Company, where he collaborated with David Sargent in planning and entitling the Hercules Waterfront District, a 125-acre brownfield site on San Pablo Bay, the largest new traditional neighborhood built in California in the past 75 years.
